The Sun of Lotus

Posted here are the first moment of a lotus bloomed at Gary's Garden. It really looks like a sun. Its aroma is the nicest at this moment. When the petals drop completely after a few days (normally about 3 days), the 'sun' will turn green and grows bigger each day. Its seeds taste nice and have medicinal value.

Orgnanised Tour to Kuantan, East Coast of Malaysia

Some time in June 2005, members of Gary's Garden were organising a trip to Kuantan, a serene town in the East Coast of Malaysia. Perhaps you can use Google Earth to locate Kuantan. It was a refreshing trip after hectic workload as an Accountant. Kuantan is a beach town. A beach nearest to town is named Teluk Chempedak. The beach is at a bay and its wave is most suitable for surfing. It is somehow like beach shown in the American TV serial 'Baywatch'. Apart from that, there is a seaside park called Taman Gelora. The park is surrounded by Rhu Trees. This make the park a very cosy and it is resemblem of scenery shown in Korean TV serial. The photo was snapped using NIKON COOLPIX 3700 and was taken from Taman Gelora overlooking the South China Sea.

Internet Technology

Someone has requested Gary's Garden to post something about internet or IT technology in the website. Initially, I thought that the topic was somehow not related to the site but on second thought, internet technology has enable Gary's Garden to share our view and passion to the community at large and reach out to all of you. Without this technology, publishing or sharing of view is unthinkable. We should be grateful to this technology as the peoples are far apart physically but the technology has made us feel like we are staying next door. It is amazing, right? Inventions of VOIP products like Skype, MSN Messanger, Yahoo Messsanger, Hello, just to name a few, have made the world even smaller. We are not divided by boundaries. So, if the IT technology can made the world bounderless, why should we human demarcate boundaries, right? What do you think? Here, we wish to attach a photo of lotus leaf so to ease your reading.

Herbal Plants

These are the herbal plants collection of Gary's Garden. We were told that the maroon coloured one can be consumed for lowering down our cholesterol level while the other one, which we called them 'Ginseng Leaf' can be used to cook soup. The plant is named 'Ginseng Leaf' as its roots look like ginseng. Some peoples dried them into tea leafs. We were told that both of the plants are grown wild in Indonesia and the Indonesian seldom consumed them. What a watse, right? There are so many cases of heart disease and hunger in the world and yet very few peoples know the quality of such herbs, what a shame, right? Perhaps our scientists can do research on them and contribute to the welfare of mankind. We in Gary's Garden believe that we human should use our resources to discover the potentials of the nature for the benefit of mankind, because we have no other place to go, except earth. We are impressed with what National Geographic did in discovering our nature.

Apple Flower

Do you believe apple can be grown in the tropical? Believe me, they are growing in Gary's Garden. Of course, they are ornamental apples and are edible. The apple is rich of vitamin C and my kids love it though it is kind of sourish. You can view the ornamental apple in my profile photo. I will introduce herbs in Gary's Garden in future updates.

Hycinth

Gary's Garden presents herewith our hycinth collections. Hycinth is a very hardy plant and survive on water. Some hycinths flower while some don't. The toughness of hycinth resemblems Malaysia's Prime Minister's wife, Datin Seri Endon Mahmood's character, who died today morning. We Malaysian will miss her for a long long time, for sure.

The family moved elsewhere

The bird family has decided to move elsewhere, perhaps the existing nest could not accommodate the growing babies. Gary's Garden will just leave the nest there and who knows, the birds may come back and lay eggs in it. We noticed the birds still visit our garden to pluck grapes. Gary's Garden is their second home, we guessed.

Besides that, we noticed another pair of birds, very small size, come to our garden very evening, stay through the night and will fly off about 7.00 am. We managed to snap a photo (without flash) of them and would like to post it today to share with all of you. We guessed the reason behind may be due to fragrance from our hoyas, which have full bloom now.

Great News - the babies can fly now 小鸟会飞了

Gary's Garden has a great news today, the babies can fly. We managed to snap photos of one of the little bird standing just beside its nest. It really looks so cute. Its mom and dad must be so proud of their babies. Their efforts are not wasted. Gary's Garden is observing how diligently both parents taking care of the babies. The mother bird flies back to its nest every evening to sleep with her babies. She uses her wings to cover the little ones. The photo posted today was not using flash as we worried it will scare the baby. Gary's Garden sincerely hopes the family will regard the garden as their HOME forever. We believe the rightful home for wild animals is nature and not in cages. (can u see the father bird holds food for its babies)

American Soldier

This flower is named American Soldier. I do not know why it is named after American soldier but I believe it is because this flower is very tough and lasting. The flower can survive in the worst condition. Sincerely hope that American soldiers can bring peace to the world and lift up to expectation.

Inhabitants of Gary's Garden

Gary's Garden attracts living creatures and some decided to stay. Some of these living creatures may be harmful to plants in Gary's Garden, but we will not destroy them as we believe every living creature has a decent place to stay which we called it 'HOME'. Gary's Garden propagates loves to nature.

The Love Birds

Introduce to you the mother and father of the babies. At first, I was puzzled why there was two birds with food in their beads take turns flying in and out of the nest instead of the mother bird only. Finally, I realised that the father bird also done his part in bringing food to the babies. This reflects to us that love exist in this world, we should preserve such love. I can't imagine why we human some time chose not to live in peace but go for war, commit crime and participate in terrorism. Your opions on this are most welcome.

Babies in action

Babies in action, this remind me of the korean TV series, Jewel in the Palace 大长今) where the little girl parents have to gone through all difficulties to ensure safety of their child. Celebration of the birth of birds in Gary's Garden

Gary's Garden is excited to experience the birth of two baby birds in the garden. We feel honoured to be chosen as the place for the births. We have gone through this since the early stage of making nest by the mother and father birds, then hatching of eggs, birth of the young ones and feeding by both their mother and father. This proves that parental loves to our children has no boundary, even animals know that.
